Subject: Reject Proposed PLK Communities Development in Hyde Park Square!

On March 5, 2025, the Charter Committee of Greater Cincinnati unanimously voted to oppose the proposed PLK Communities development in Hyde Park Square.

Our Official Statement:

“CHARTER COMMITTEE OF GREATER CINCINNATI CALLS FOR “REJECTION” OF PLK COMMUNITIES DEVELOPMENT IN HYDE PARK SQUARE

CINCINNATI, OHIO – The Charter Committee of Greater Cincinnati stands with the citizens of Hyde Park and community councils across the city who oppose the proposed PLK Communities development in Hyde Park Square.

Similar in spirit to the ill-conceived “Connected Communities” ordinance, this proposal is being advanced without serious public engagement and prioritizes increased density over the look, feel and historic character of an iconic city neighborhood.

We call upon our elected and appointed leaders to reject this proposal in its current form. While we are mindful of the need to increase the City’s population, such efforts must be undertaken thoughtfully and must respect the historic design elements which make our neighborhoods so livable and unique.”
